These are just a few of the tons of improvements and new features implemented for Breek.gr 2.0 by OVERBRING Labs 😎 within 10 weeks:

Contacts

  • A new, more flexible concept for managing contacts and their information.
  • An improved UI flow for managing tenants (contacts backed by users, and contacts without any linked user).
  • An entirely new UI flow for allocating owners to properties.

Occupancies

  • Progress bars for occupancies, with humanized text descriptions of time periods, so that you don’t have can glance at the Occupancies listing page to see what’s upcoming, running, or soon to expire.
  • Visual feedback on current and future utilization of a property when creating a new occupancy.

Properties

  • A map view of real-estate properties across Greece using OpenStreetMap, with functioning filter functionality.
  • An improved property digital folder page with more consistent modal windows and styling.

Notifications

  • A new notifications subsystem with interlinked/chained notifications for all stakeholders of an action, that increases traceability of actions for everyone involved.
  • New email templates for notifications, with helpful user guidance and suggested clickable actions.
  • Live notifications for the Breek.gr team on key system events (signups, logins, property folder creation, and more).

Onboarding

  • A brand-new onboarding subsystem with helpful user guidance that doesn’t get in the way with too many pop-ups, and helpful explanation blocks that can be toggled in the Settings .
  • A new Start page that guides new users through the first steps depending on their chosen role (Property Manager, Property Owner, or Tenant).

Miscellaneous

  • An improved listing of subscriptions and billing information.
  • A new role switcher that provides user feedback and works from any page on the web app.
  • A vastly more responsive app design that makes it possible to use Breek.gr on screens of even tiny sizes, even on an iPhone SE (with a few pages as minor exceptions).

There are also some improvements that you cannot see, but you will most certainly notice, if you have been a user since we launched back in April 2024:

  • Latency improvements through extensive refactoring of the backend API to avoid unnecessary database queries.
  • A vastly more componentized frontend with improved design consistency, that also results in higher maintenability of the web app.

Finally, there are new API endpoints used by the upcoming Breek.gr Managers “sister app”, which you will only see in action through the UI in 2025.

Development

Additionally, the development and staging environment was moved to OVERBRING Labs’ hybrid cloud and expanded with new, self-hosted services for S3-compatible object storage, email testing, notifications, and highly-available OpenStreetMap map tiles , thus reducing the operating/hosting costs and increasing reliability and availability.

A detailed breakdown of most of the user-facing improvements are listed on the Breek.gr blog post .
