For a multinational manufacturer (headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland) of precision scales and analytical instruments for professional use, I developed a training with the title of “Leading Product Development: Myths and Realities” on myths and realities of leading project teams in product development.
Topics covered:
- Functional viewpoints on product development
- Complexity and the product lifecycle
- Measurability and KPIs
- Development processes and types of waste
- Front-loading, and point-based vs. set-based development
- Lean/Agile concepts without the hype
- Knowledge management and trade-off negotiation
- Queuing, project dynamics, and typical pitfalls
- Project steering, decision-making, and group dynamics
The training package includes pre-work and classroom exercises, and was sold as a non-exclusively-licensed product, thus keeping it available for further interested customers.
